Great central location, easy walking distance to Union Square etc
very nice hotel . very quite, rooms and beds very comfortable. nothing to improve on .excellent location , easy to walk, trolley etc thourghout the city. would stay again. $45 fare from airport/ taxi
Great location near Chinatown allowed access to many attractions in San Francisco.
Location and cleaniness of the room
The location is fantastic, the staff are all very friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and clean with a great view (mine faced the street) and a flat screen tv.
I wish the parking (valet only, by the way) wasn't so expensive, but that comes with the territory.
As other reviewers have stated, the bed was great. Slept very well and very comfortable. Close to BART and Muni, very close to China town. Liked the "green" aspect and they did have recycling in the room. Nice bathroom and everything felt and looked clean, which is one of my major requirements.
Extremely expensive breakfast. $21 for a full breakfast, $5 more if delievered to your room! Working Girl Cafe and Starbucks were close by and more reasonable. Also did not put the change linen sign on the beds and they were changed anyway. (Came back to the room when they were doing this). Wasn't pleased that the fridge was packed with expensive drinks. Would have liked to have gotten some yogert and beer to place in it ourselves.
Very well located, clean with a reasonable price
The harmonious nature and quality of the decor from the sheets to the mattress to the wallpaper, to the lobby. The bathroom was excellent, the air conditioner worked beautifully. The personnel were all very accommodating and professional. Since we concentrated a 3-day visit on exploring Chinatown and made visits to stores near Union Square, the location couldn't have been better.
The coffee maker was primitive and virtually useless.
I actually thought I had booked us into the "Orchard Hotel" a few blocks west on Bush Street, and was informed otherwise upon checkin there. So, off we went to find the Orchard "Garden" Hotel, just down the street. We were surprised by the limited lobby experience, however, the staff more than made up for any shortcomings in facilities! It's the reason I rated the "Value for money" only "Good", because there wasn't much difference between the two hotels otherwise, except the overall ambience which we liked better at the Orchard Hotel. Otherwise, they both provided great access to downtown shopping and conveniences. The staff is well trained, engaging, friendly, & professional...I/we really appreciated their efforts. Thank you, Bill & Margaret Nevins - Costa Rica
We felt the lobby & public areas downstairs were very pedestrian, much like 2-3 star hotels in Paris. So, there wasn't much to offer as far as ambiance. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.
Great location, no need to have a car at all.
The breakfast is not good. If you are on a rush to check out or go somewhere in the morning, you left yourself for this quick choice and have to take it. Really don't like food especially it is the additional charge on the top of expensive room rate.
The location was great! The hotel staff were friendly and went out of their way to provide helpful information. The room was lovely. It had a luxury spa feel to it and the tranquil setting was nice after a busy day of sightseeing.
I had wanted to spend an evening of wine, bread and cheese on the balcony but decided against it because although it was an inviting space the surrounding buildings blocked any potential views. It would be a nice place to get together with a group of friends though.
So close to everything. Great location. Many restaurants close by. Tourist bus right in the corner. Grant Avenue and the Chinese gate were right there!
Quiet, clean and comfortable. Eco friendly. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Parking is ridiculously expensive (as is entire city). Terrible tv channels and quality. A little pricey for what you get.
I liked the room and the green features of the room (once we figured out how to turn on the lights). The location was great.
While the room was great, the staff was just horrible, but by benign neglect and outright hostility. Upon check in, they informed us it would be a 50 dollar charge to get a second bed- which would have been ok had this been presented with a better attitude. Then, they failed to show us how the green features of the room worked, so we spent about half an hour trying to figure it out. When we called, they did not come up and show us, they just said, "oh, you have to do this" and hung up. Same with the internet service. When I went down for coffee I was ignored for about 10 minutes (in an EMPTY resteraunt), then the person who made my coffee left and let it go cold, then served it to me anyway instead of making fresh. It was the first time in my life I did not leave a tip. Note to management: in this economy you should be able to find staff who want to work in customer service positions!
Everything was great, very good location close to the chinatown gate, everything is very quite. Bedrooms are very bright, bathrooms are pretty and with a lot of space.
